David Scott was born in Stevenage in Hertfordshire at school he excelled in visual subjects and achieved O levels in Technical Drawing, Graphic Communication and Art as well as Physics English Maths and Electronics. At Sixth Form College he did an A level in Art in one year instead of the usual two before going on to a first job of trainee draughtsman for British Steel. He also took a Theatre Lighting course at Redhill Technical College.  He then went on to manage a Pub in Warlingham, was a Sales Assistant in Allders in Croydon, a Despatch Rider, a Photocopy Engineer followed by more pub management in Thornton Heath and then a 10 year spell as a manager for Oddbins Wine merchant Finishing as a Senior Manager in the Kew branch. During this time, he was painting and drawing as a hobby and attending classes in drawing and painting at Richmond college. On his days off he drove vans and lorries delivering props for advertising, TV and film, even dressing the set on one occasion for an advert. A keen sportsman he has played in two Grand Finals of the British Australian Football League and played cricket for Menai Bridge Seconds and Rugby for Llangoed.

In 1992 he went back to college to study Art full time doing a foundation course in Art and Design at Gwynedd Technical College. After Graduating he designed and build sets and props for a Christian Drama Group called the Ephphatha Trust and toured and performed for five years all over North Wales and beyond, mainly in schools. Performing for about 10,000 children a year a highlight was performing at the Venue Cymru, Llandudno in front of an audience of 5000. With a wide range of practical skills, he started doing jobs for friends. Working alongside other builders, carpenters, roofers, electricians, plumbers and plasterers he picked up more skills and became a full-time builder almost by accident. He also designed Gardens, Mosaics, Kitchens, Bathrooms and Loft Conversions.

In 1999 he was approached by a recent graduate and set up a Web Design company. At this time, he designed for Web and Print and had work published in the Radio Times, TV Magazine, Hello Magazine amongst others. He wound up the company in 2003 to get out of the office and back outdoors taking up the lucrative and creative building work again whilst still hosting and maintaining a portfolio of websites for select clients.

He has been a full-time artist since 2017. In 2023 he moved into his present studio in Chapel Ebeneser in Caernarfon where he works making mixed media abstract art. He draws on his love of landscape and nature for inspiration and remains open and curious constantly experimenting with new mediums and techniques. He has always been drawn to art and painting and now revels in the ability to devote all his energies to creating. He is married with a motorbike, six children and one grandchild.
